“Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls” (Jeremiah 6:16)
God’s ways are not burdensome as the world’s ways tend to be; always fretting over issues and dealing with harsh circumstances. Certainly we will have trials and some bad days while on earth; we’ll even go through heartbreaking situations and physical challenges. But the Lord’s promise is that He will never leave us. Nor will our loving Father forsake us in our times of need when we place our trust in Him. Always be watchful at the gate; listening for Holy Spirit’s command before proceeding. The grace of our Lord and Savior supplies all we need in order to fulfill our days in peace and joy.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:5-6)
Decisions, decisions, decisions right? We can become so torn at times and temptations are all around us. What to do, what’s right? To know what’s most advantageous we need only to look to God’s living Word for every situation. Proverbs 4:22 declares that His Words are “life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Surely we need His Holy Spirit (our Teacher) to interpret the entire Bible for us.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.” (Leviticus 17:11-12).
Blood is sacred and is the source of life. Human and animal blood contains both pure and impure elements, therefore God has commanded us not to eat of it or drink it raw. The only blood we are to partake of is Jesus Christ's shed blood on the cross. He was God's only begotten Son, so His blood was pure and undefiled. By receiving salvation through His sacrificial blood we become part of God's family also: Partakers of the abundant life while here, and eternal life in Heaven.
